学校アート出会いプロジェクト
Kyoto Prefecture-sponsored School Art Encounter Project
京都府の府下の希望する学校にアーティストを派遣するプロジェクト。2025年は宇治支援学校へ10数年ぶりに行きました。筆と墨で表現する事、また協力し巨大な校歌を書きあげる事。手足を汚しつつも巨大な校歌が完成。学校祭ではこの前で校歌が歌われました。
This project sends artists to schools in Kyoto Prefecture that wish to participate. In 2025, we visited Uji Shien School for the first time in over 10 years. They expressed themselves with brush and ink, and worked together to write a giant school song. They got their hands and feet dirty black, but the giant school song was completed. Apparently, the school song was sung in front of this at the school festival.

New art work for JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo
IBUKI 作品いぶきがJWマリオット・ホテル東京に設置
東京・高輪の新街「TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY」の
高層階に誕生しました「JWマリオット・ホテル東京」28階エレベーターホールにInterculture Art Inc.さんのもと無事に設置されました。
作品「いぶき」
エレベーターを降りた正面にあり、人の流れ、水の流れをイメージして制作しました。なんとこの大きさ7ｍ。新しい街、高輪のシンボル的ホテルで多くの人の文化と交流の場になる事と思います。
The work "Ibuki" has been successfully installed at the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, located on the upper floors of Takanawa Gateway City, a new neighborhood in Takanawa, Tokyo, the direction of Interculture Art Inc.
It is located directly in front of you as you exit the elevator, and I created with the image of the flow of people and water. It measures an astounding 7 m. We believe this iconic hotel in the new town of Takanawa will become a place of cultural exchange and connection for many people.

Old Testament Psalms: Four Translations
2025年国内聖書頒布150年を迎えた日本聖書協会。それを記念し出版された『旧約聖書 詩篇 四訳対照』のブックタイトルを書かせて頂きました。
The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of the Japan Bible Society's domestic distribution of the Bible. I created the title of the book "Old Testament Psalms: A Comparison of Four Translations," which was published to commemorate this occasion.

AWAJI ISLAND, B. 1974
Hiroshi Ueta, born in Awaji Island, Japan, is a Kyoto based artist and calligrapher, who is passionate in exploring the realms in between conceptual art, performance, calligraphy and design. He studied calligraphy under his mother at an early age, and graduated with a BA in Japanese Calligraphy from Shikoku University in 1996.
Ueta’s work attempts to examine a deeper meaning in calligraphy, as well as the existential aspects of what cannot be expressed in words, in which he uses abstract concepts creating his own artistic language through his paintings, installations, as well as performances, among other forms. His work has been exhibited at Sotheby’s New York, Art Sydney 2006, KIAF 2007, MAISON&OBJET, Nuit Blanche Kyoto (2019, 2022, 2023, 2025), among others.
In 2014, Ueta won the Asia Design Award for his illustrated books “Kecho”, as well as "Ryutandan" written by Kyoka Izumi. His cover and title design of the book "Umi no Niwa" by Tamiko Ohtake was awarded the Best Prize at the 2023 Japan Book Design Award. For the EXPO OSAKA 2025, He performed at the French Pavilion.

1974年兵庫県淡路島生まれ。幼少の頃から母親の元で書を学ぶ。1996年四国大学書道コース卒業。 1998年中国・杭州大学留学。2000年カナダ・トロントに渡り個展や『Sotheby’s（サザビーズ・NY）』に出品等の活動後、 2002年制作の場を京都に移す。
2005年京都美術協会新進作家に選出。2006年アート・シドニー（オーストラリア）、KIAF2007（韓国国際アートフェア）、Water tower Art Fest 2014（ブルガリア）、2016年ウェールズ・イギリスのアートイベントAKIN。アートフェア東京等に参加。
書のルーツを辿り、古典から学び、書く事の意味、人の本能へと巡る彼の考えと表現は、様々なジャンルのアーティストからの支持を得
2018年＆2020年京都市＆パリ市アーティストコラボレーションプロジェクト（SAVOIR-FAIRE DES TAKUMI）に選出以降、 ニュイ・ブランシュ京都 2019, 2022, 2023, 2025に参加、フランスの製本、ジュエリー、音楽、ダンス、パフォーマンスなど様々なジャンルのアーティストとのコラボレーションを行っている
デザイン分野では、泉鏡花 作、中川学 絵の絵本『龍潭譚』、おなじく『絵本化鳥』の題字を担当し2014年アジアデザイン賞を受賞。NMB48、男前豆腐店、叶匠寿庵、柊家旅館、AMAN京都、前田珈琲等の商品ロゴの制作や監修。また大竹民子 著『海の庭』の表紙アートワークとタイトルを制作、第56回造本装幀コンクール文部科学大臣賞を受賞。
ヒルトン京都、JWマリオットホテル東京、神戸空港のアートワーク製作。2025年大阪関西EXPOカルティエパビリオンの文字デザイン。フランスパビリオンVIPルームにセリーヌ・ライトとのコラボレーション作品を設置、パフォーマンスを行った。
武田薬品工業株式会社全グループによるミーティング“ONE TAKEDA”、国際会議であるUFI TOKYOにてオープニングアクトとしてVRを使った書のライブパフォーマンスを披露。他アジア文化都市京都2017のプロモーションビデオ制作など、最先端の映像制作にも携わる。
